Arthur Stashower

Arthur Stashower practices principally in the area of entertainment transaction matters and intellectual property licensing. He also has experience in general business and corporate law.

He was educated at the University of Michigan (AB, 1951; JD, 1953), where he graduated from the Law School with honors, having been elected to membership of the Order of the Coif. After service as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, he started practice in California in 1957.

During the 1960s, he was an executive with United Artists Corporation and then Vice President in charge of business affairs of a major talent agency. Returning to private practice in 1967, he was a partner in the law firm of Sklar, Coben & Stashower from 1971 until 1984 and was a founding partner in Chrystie & Berle and Of Counsel to that firm until he joined Kenoff & Machtinger, LLP as Of Counsel.

He also serves as an arbitrator in entertainment, labor and general disputes. He has had numerous decisions published in Labor Arbitration Reports and Labor Arbitration Awards and is a member of the IFTA Panel of Arbitrators. He served two terms as a trustee of the Los Angeles Copyright Society.

Mr. Stashower was born in Cleveland, Ohio, April 12, 1930. He was admitted to the bars of: Ohio and Michigan (1953) ; California and U.S. District Court, Central District of California (1957); U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit (1962) . He is a member of the Arbitration Panel, International Film and Television Association, 1996—. Beverly Hills and American Bar Associations; The State Bar of California; State Bar of Michigan; Los Angeles Copyright Society.
